Transfers (Week 72)

Transferssssss! Well I am staying here in Tultepec! I am going to have 6 months here! Haha. 1 year and just 2 areas, crazy! Elder Passeri is leaving and Elder Call is coming and its funny cause Elder Passeri trained Elder Call! But he is a really good Elder. He has trained and been district leader his whole misión. He is from New Mexico so another gringo! And well we worked with Yael a lot this week and he has changed a lot honestly! He is only 11 years old but wow! His grandma bought him pants and a white shirt to go to church and he was excited for that! He already passed his interview and will be baptized tomorrow! So we are excited about that! Also this week we could have 7 baptisms as a zone! So that would be awesome! I am really excited for this transfer, I am going to make it the best of my misión!
Spiritual Thought Of The Week
Last night we had a family night with Edgar and Rita and a lot of other people, it was great. First off, I love Edgar and Rita so much. They are awesome! They got baptized in December and are really strong in the church! But we talked about the importance of putting God first in our lives. We had lemons and dirt and they had to put it all in a cup. The thing is if we put the dirt first, then the lemons, its doesn't work. We have to put the lemons in first and then the dirt. In our lives we must put the important things first, like the góspel principles. And then we can put in the dirt, like things of the world. If we put things of the world first we cant fit all the important things. But if we put the important things first like the principles of the góspel everything fits! There is a scripture in 3 Nefi 13 in verses 32-33 that says “For your Heavenly Father knoweth that ye have a need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” If we seek God first everything else will come. We must have the faith sufficient! Sometimes we trick ourselves with putting the dirt first and about 3 lemons fit, but it doesn't all fit! Be careful because that stage is dangerous and it tricks us. I promise you all, that life is much better putting God first. I have seen it in my misión! I love you all and hope you can all seek God first and see the blessings that you will receive!

Mission Life (Week71)

Wow what a week! So we saw some miracles this week and that's always a good time! First off, Monday night Freddy introduced us to a guy that put a different cable company in his house (this guy knows the importance of missionary work). And as we were teaching him I just got so many chills it was crazy, and we invited him to baptism and he accepted! It reminded me that God really does prepare people to listen to our message! Then another day we were knocking on doors, and its been kinda tough lately with the people, but I said a prayer so that the next 8 doors we knock on they would all accept us to come back another time, and boom, 6 in a row accepted us! Not quite 8, but man that was really cool too! I know this is the work of the Lord and that he is the one that works the miracles. Also we found a part member family and there is a kid that is 10 years old, and he came to church this week! He wants to get baptized on his birthday on June 5th. So that's really good!

Spiritual Thought Of The Week
Lately I have been studying the scriptures a lot better, and I have definitely seen a difference! I got a note book just for scripture study and I am learning a lot more! I have such a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon, and have seen in my life, when I really read it to learn, I see a change in my life. I remember when I started reading the book everyday, my life truly changed. I always testify to people here that if they just open the book and read at least 1 verse a day, they will see a difference in their life. It is something that is so simple and easy that we just don't do it sometimes. When we read the word of God we have the spirit with us more and we are protected against the opposition. If we stop reading everyday we are vulnerable to so many things. I love the Book of Mormon and it has blessed my life so much. It has been my protection. I hope you all are reading at least 1 verse a day to show God your love for him and to receive the blessings that he has promised us.

Baptism! (Week 70)

Elder Herman, Tabata, and Elder Passeri on baptism day!

This was a good week! Tabata got baptized and confirmed so that is good! Finally had a baptism wahoo! She is really cute. Her whole family are members but she completed 9 years so we got to baptize her. We taught her how to say cheese in English and when we want her to smile we tell her to say cheese and she smiles real big haha, she's a cutie. Elder Passeri baptized her and I got to confirm her it was really cool. We also had Zone Conference so that was good. And now we can listen to EFY music wahoo! So we have been jammin' out to that lately.

Spiritual Thought Of The Week
Well yesterday I was studying the scriptures and was reading the famous Mosiah 2. This is a great chapter in the Book of Mormon that talks about serving others and how when we serve we are only in the service of our God. I love verses 23 and 24. “And now, in the first place, he hath created you, and granted unto you your lives, for which you are indebted unto him. And secondly, he doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you; for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you; and therefore he hath paid you. And ye are still indebted unto him, and are and will be, forever and ever; therefore, of what have ye to boast?” I love this so much, it is so true! God gives us EVERYTHING! And we owe him a lot! And then when we obey his commandments he blesses us even more! So we owe him even more! We must be grateful for the overflowing blessings that he gives us. And we must give him credit as well because, well “what do we have to boast?” nothing just our God that is in Heaven! I love my Heavenly Father so much and I am so grateful for all the things he has given me in my life. I know that when we are obedient to his commandments he blesses us even more than he already has. I love this gospel and I love living it! Have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day (Week 69)

Well this was a good week! I hope all you mothers had a great day with lots of love yesterday! It was great being able to talk to my great family and I love them so very much! The next time I see them will be in the airport. How crazy is that! But ya, good week, haha. We had some cool experiences contacting. We knocked on a door and a lady came out really mad kinda and said “Aw I already know you guys you just want money.” I was like, uh no. So we offered her service and asked if there was anything she needed and she said she needed tortillas, so we asked where the closest tortillería was and went and bought her a kilo of tortillas. She obviously didn't know the missionaries, cause she was not expecting that we really were going to bring her tortillas! So when we showed up with tortillas she was in shock, haha, she changed completely and accepted us. So that was cool!
Spiritual Thought Of The Week
Well this week I’d like to talk about enduring to the end but with faith.  Many times we are faced with opposition and we get discouraged. But that is part of life, we need opposition. Like it says in 2 Nephi 2:11 that it is necessary that there is an opposition in all things. I have seen many times in my misión where things are not going my way and it would be easy to throw in the towel. But I always find that God always blesses me with something to be happy about and to motivate me to keep on pushing on. The scripture in Ether 12:6 defines my misión. “I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.” We must act first with faith and then we will see miracles happen. Its like in exercise or when someone is learning a new thing you must struggle learning to be able to learn and move on. I know our Heavenly Father love us so much that He let us come to this earth to figure things out and to struggle a little and see that when we have faith everything turns out well. I love His plan and I love Him. Have a great week!

Ministering (Week 68)

Elder Passeri & Elder Herman
Well what a week! The president of the área of Mexico came and talked to our whole misión! He taught us about ministering and it was really cool! I’ll talk about that in my spiritual thought. J Also this week was a little crazy with everything. A lot of stuff happened, haha, but we are also doing good in the área. Edith and Jackeline came to church for the first time so that was real exciting! We are focusing a lot on daily goals and it has helped so much!

Spiritual Thought Of The Week
Ok, well I am PUMPED about ministering! We must minister as Jesus ministered. Elder Pieper told us what it means to minister. He said that ministering is taking care of other people in the way that Christ would, and to help satisfy spiritual and temporal needs. Some principles to ministering are love, spiritual guide, and to find the needs of others. If we can apply these principles to the people we minister to we will be able to minister as Christ did. I love this church so much and I know it is perfect. It is always getting better and we as members must be able to complete what God commands us. Have a great week of ministering to everyone!

Ups and Downs (Week 67)

Well.. got some bad news the other day…Lucero sent us a text saying that her parents aren't going to let her get baptized and that she had to drop everything….So thats really sad and tough. We feel so bad for Lucero cause she is sad that she won't be able to get baptized. But we prayed a lot for her and her parents and yesterday we ran into them in the street, haha. They stopped and talked to us and we got to put another appointment to see what happened. So that was disappointing, but we are hopeful! Then Omar was going to get baptized next weekend also, but he says he's still not ready and wants to talk to his mom about it all.. So it was kinda a rough week, haha, but all is well!

Spiritual Thought Of The Week
Something I have learned on the misión is that we must accept the Fathers will. Many times we find ourselves, in our lives, disappointed because things don’t always go our way, then we get upset. If we could learn to accept Gods will, and if we could completely understand that what he has planned for us is much better than we could ever imagine, we would live life much happier. We will always have our expectations, hopes and dreams. But we need to put those to one side and think about what God wants for us and what God has prepared for us. As I have been able to do this I have been able to see more clearly why I am going through trials. I can see what God is trying to teach me. I can see farther than just the now and see the way that God is making me a better person. When we accept the will of God we are at peace and we are comforted. We all must go through trials so that one day we can be perfect and have the same glory as our Heavenly Father. It is not a cheap experience, but it is worth it. I love the example that Jesus gives us of accepting the will of God while he was suffering in Gethsemane in Luke 22:42 “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” And also in John 5:30 “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” As we follow the example of Jesus Christ, and realize that we can do nothing ourselves, and accept the will of the Father we will be happier. I love you all so much and hope you have a great week!

Changes (Week 66)

This week was good! So the biggest news is that Lucero told us that she got her answer and that she wants to be baptized wahoo!! So that is really exciting. And this week are transfers! I am going to stay here in Tultepec with Elder Passeri haha so we don't change, but pretty much our whole Zone is going to change. So it will be a good adventure. But this week we had a week of miracles and had 4 baptisms. Oh, and they gave us a new touch phone! But its nothing too special and we cant do anything new haha.

Spiritual Thought Of The Week
So this change we were really focused on having faith. Having faith that our investigators would progress and that we could have more success. And this last week we could see the results of having more faith! We could see miracles and as a Zone we had the best numbers we had ever had in the Zone! I love the scripture in Mark 9:23 “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth” A lot of times God sends us trials to see if we really believe. He puts us in situations where we have to believe in things that are unseen. Like the example of Peter walking on water. What a miracle that he could walk on water. He walked because he had faith and then he had a trial and lost the faith and sunk. We too can “walk on water”. But first we must have faith and act. We must jump off the side of the boat with faith, knowing that with faith we can do all things. I know that I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. I am so very grateful for this great gospel we have that is perfect! I hope you all have a great week full of faith! Les quiero mucho, cuídense!
